Wishes Come True at BASH 21st Annual Auction Raises Money for Queen of Angels

(Port Angeles. WA) It was an incredible night of fund raising and ‘fun raising’ at Queen of Angel’s School in Port Angeles on Saturday night, June 5, 2010 at the 21st Annual Bash Auction which successfully surpassed last year’s totals.

The evening began with a series of spectacular silent auctions and a wonderful dinner catered by Michael’s Divine Dining. Parents, parishioners and friends of the school all turned out to support 75 years of education.

“Wish Upon A Star” was the theme of this year’s gala, with featured a team of auction professionals from April Brown’s Charity Auction World. The live auction featured nearly 50 incredible items, including travel packages to Maui, Lake Tahoe, and Victoria. Bidding was fast and furious on a special delicious catered dinner with Queen of Angels’ pastor Fr. Nathe, as well as the annual naming rights to the school’s playground.

The most important part of the evening came during the Fund-An-Item, when the audience was asked to extend their generosity to help families in need of assistance with tuition. “During these tough and challenging times, many parents are finding it harder and harder to fully pay for a first rate education,” said Kerri Merritt, this year’s Queen of Angels Auction Chair. “The money raised tonight will allow us to deduct a significant amount of money from the cost of tuition at for those families who are in need.”

Auctioneer April Brown praised the work of the volunteers. “These parents came together to make the auction one of the most successful in years,” said April. “A great Catholic school education is a wonderful investment in the future and priceless to the child who receives it. We are proud to be able to help make their wishes come true!”

Celebrating nearly 20 years of fund raising, April Brown’s Powerhouse Auction Team includes a trio of media personalities and auction professionals, including Neil Scott, update anchor on Sports Radio 950 KJR and Eric Kirchner, Traffic Reporter for KGW 8 in Portland. The Top 3 Mistakes U R Making Right Now

Top 3 Mistakes
Failing to understand the purpose of the auction.
Charity auctions create the opportunity to connect with donors, bidders, volunteers and sponsors. A thoughtful planning process creates confident and competent volunteers and develops deeper and more meaningful associations.

Failure to invest in the financial vision of the auction.

“In the beginning it belongs to others, what’s left belongs to you”. If you operate by my Golden rule, your auction will create greater overall value than any other fundraising event. A charity auction is the only experience that offers Donors, sponsors, guests and volunteers a chance to rub shoulders. They are paying for a positive, uplifting and entertaining experience. Invest as much of their money as it takes to create a memorable legendary auction event.

Failure to Honor Everyone All The Time.

Bartender to Baron, Valet to Vice President, all influence a spirited and special evening. The auction process and environment holds new contacts and support. Cooperating kindly builds comaradarie and loyalty. Your profits will rise with the altitude of your attitude.
